On 15 March 2023 Kenan Agias is arrested at Larnaca International Airport under a European Arrest Warrant. It is established that the 48-year-old Kurdish man has been recognized by the Republic of Cyprus as politically persecuted by Turkey and is placed under detention. Members of the police found out during passport control, that the 48-year-old was wanted by German law enforcement authorities as a suspected member of a terrorist organisation. An arrest warrant was executed against him by the Larnaca District Court.
